You might not think about taking a rest day while on a vacation to the Disneyland Resort, but I can tell you from experience, you will need it! Especially if you are traveling with kids, planning a rest day mid-vacation can definitely save the rest of your vacation. Here are some ideas for a rest day that is still full of fun and magic!
Book a Character Breakfast at a Disney Hotel
The Disneyland Hotel & The Grand Californian offer character dining fit for the whole family! At the Disneyland Hotel, you can dine with Goofy and all his friends at Goofy’s Kitchen! This breakfast and dinner buffet provides delicious eats and sweet treats for the whole family to enjoy while waving their towels as your favorite Disney friends run by! The Grand Californian Hotel and Spa offers Storytellers Cafe and Napa Rose. You can join Mickey and all his friends at Storytellers Cafe for breakfast and brunch. Napa Rose offers a fancy 3-course breakfast fit for royalty. Keep an eye out because some of the most royal Disney Princesses are bound to join you!
Swim at Your Hotel Pool
Pools at the Disneyland Hotels are some of the best around. The Disneyland Hotel pays homage to the monorail that used to grace the Disneyland Hotel property with the Monorail Pool. The Paradise Pier Hotel, soon to be rethemed to a Pixar Hotel, offers a rooftop pool with waterslide! Head up the waterslide and slide down with amazing views of Pixar Pier in Disney’s California Adventure. All pools at the Disneyland Resort provide complimentary life jackets!
Stroll Through Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney has a lot to offer and it’s free to walk around! Try out Black Tap for over the top milkshakes and delicious burgers. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen is one of my personal favorites with delicious cajun food and warm beignets. You can even get some to go at the Express Window! No trip to the Disneyland Resort is complete without a shopping excursion at World of Disney! World of Disney is one of the largest stores with all the Disney merchandise you can dream of. Grab some clothing, accessories, toys, sweets, and of course, some new Mickey Ears!
Your Disney Parks days will be filled with 10K steps, waking up early, and staying up late to watch the incredible Disneyland fireworks. Taking a rest day between parks can make your park days easier and more enjoyable for your whole family!
