When you think of cruising the first things that come to mind is island hopping through the Caribbean or even meandering through the Mediterranean seas. Very few people think of the cruises New England or Canada, but here’s why you should!

The cruising season for Canada and New England runs from late April/early May to October. Cruising early is a great way to experience a cruise at a lower cost. Early summer cruises often feature better deals than the peak cruising months!

Northern cruises also leave from Northern ports, if you live in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic it means you may be able to drive to your cruise port and save money on your airfare. New England and Canadian cruises leave from Baltimore, Cape Liberty, Manhattan, and Boston!

Unique excursions are available for these cruises as well, go whale watching in Nova Scotia or explore the Titanic Museum, walk the freedom trail in Boston or catch a Red Sox game, or take a walking tour in any of these cities steeped in history. While you may not find yourself laying on a beach, you will find yourself surrounded by a unique landscape begging to be explored.

The number one reason to cruise New England and Canada is the foliage! Catch a cruise in late September or Early October and see the coastline ablaze with color! Stop in Bar Harbor, Maine to see the foliage at Acadia Nation Park or walk the Confederation Trail in Prince Edward Island.

Don’t forget that even Disney Cruise Line offers New England cruises. Only offered one to two sailings a year, you can experience Halloween on the High Seas leaving right from New York City!
