It’s been an exciting week in Disney News, especially if you’re looking to travel to Walt Disney World in 2024. Package booking begins on May 31, 2023, so here’s a quick breakdown of what you need to know when booking your 2024 vacation package!

No More Park Reservations Required– Guests traveling January 9, 2024, or later who purchase a dated ticket no longer are required to make park reservations. That means the flexibility of your Walt Disney World vacation is back! No longer will you have to plan where and when you will be each day of your vacation months in advance. Please note that guests are still welcome to make park reservations if they feel more comfortable doing so. Guests traveling with an annual pass are also still required to make reservations for their first park of the day except on select dates.

Disney Dining Plans are Returning– A new simplified version of Disney Dining plans is coming back for packages with travel later than January 9, 2024. There will be 2 options, the Quick Service Plan and the Disney Dining plan. These options may also be added to rooms booked by Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Member reservations.

Disney Quick Service Dining Plan– This dining plan will give each guest (ages 3 and up) 2 Quick Service meal allotments and 1 snack per night of their stay. Each guest will receive one refillable mug valid for the length of your stay. These dining allotments can be rolled over day to day and expire at midnight on the day of checkout.

Disney Dining Plan- This dining plan will give each guest (ages 3 and up) 1 Quick Service meal, 1 Sit Down meal, and one snack per night of your stay. Guests will also receive one refillable mug valid for the length of your stay. These dining allotments can be rolled over day to day and expire at midnight on the day of checkout. Select Shows and Signature Table Service meals will require the use of 2 dining credits per guest.

Disney has also announced the expansion of Early Entry hours for all resort guests and the continuation of Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Resort guests. These hours vary so be sure to check the My Disney Experience app during your stay to keep up to date on park information.

Genie+ will also be changing to be more user-friendly. Disney hopes that these changes will lead to guests spending more time with their families and less time on their phones. Stay tuned as we break down those changes when they are officially announced!
