Are you a thrill seeker? I absolutely love fast-paced attractions, the kind of rides that get your heart rate racing and pull squeals of joy from your lungs. I want to be clear–I’m talking about fun adrenaline pumping, nothing too terrifying. And I think the Disney parks walk this line perfectly!
I’m lining up my top Walt Disney World picks for thrill junkies. And I’m breaking things down by park. If you’ve got a park hopper ticket, you could even combine these all for one epic day of ride thrills!
Animal Kingdom:
I’d start my perfect day of thrills at Animal Kingdom, as it typically opens earliest, giving me the most hours to enjoy my day! First I’d head for Avatar Flight of Passage, for some breathtaking virtual flying. Then I’d head over to Expedition Everest and take my chances against the Yeti, then head over to Dinosaur in Dinoland (this area gets a re-theme in the near future, so follow us for updates!).
Hollywood Studios:
Hollywood Studios has some incredible thrills, including one of my favorite roller coasters of all time, Rock N’ Roller Coaster. After that, it’s a quick walk to Hollywood Tower of Terror right next door, then a ride on Slinky Dog Dash. I’m wrapping up Hollywood Studios with the epic Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. If you want to ramp up the Star Wars factor, consider adding in the fast-paced Star Tours and Millenium Falcon Smuggler’s Run rides. May the force be with you!
Epcot:
It’s super easy to get to Epcot from Hollywood Studios; you can walk, take a ferry boat, or ride the Skyliner! Epcot is actually home to the fastest ride on all of Walt Disney World property. Any guesses? It’s Test Track! Race around this track then head to the skies on Soarin. I’d end my thrill tour of Epcot at Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, a can’t miss coaster and my favorite ride on property.
Magic Kingdom:
I’ve purposefully saved the Magic Kingdom for last. It’s my favorite park, it has the most thrill rides on this list, and if you head here at the end of your day you can cap things off by viewing the evening fireworks! Magic Kingdom is home to the original “mountains,” and I want to experience them all. I’d start out zooming through the stars on Space Mountain then take in the wildest ride in the wilderness on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Splash Mountain recently closed but Tiana’s Bayou is set to take its place soon, so that will definitely make the list. Then we have to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Fantasyland–I just love that there’s a princess-themed roller coaster! And I’d make sure to pick up a Virtual Queue or Lighting Lane for the parks’ newest thrill ride, Tron Lightcycle Run. For tiny thrill seekers, head over to Goofy’s Barnstormer, a quick but fun pint-sized coaster that I think is a perfect “first roller coaster” experience for little ones.
