1. One of the most popular Disney World souvenirs are, of course, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse ears! In fact, over 3 million pairs are sold every year! With countless varieties and styles, they’re a great memento to bring home from your favorite Disney theme park.
2. Walt Disney intended the resorts around the Seven Seas Lagoon to reflect the various lands in Magic Kingdom. While the Contemporary Resort is a nod to Tomorrowland, and the Polynesian Resort fits into the Adventureland theme, the Grand Floridian Resort was meant to fit the Main Street aesthetic.


3. The It’s a Small World and Carousel of Progress attractions at Disney World were both featured at the New York World’s Fair in 1964.
4. Tinker Bell first made her famous flight over the skies of Disneyland in 1961 but it wasn’t until 1985 that she sailed over Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World.
5. We all know that Magic Kingdom was the first of the Disney World theme parks, but do you know which ones opened next? It was Epcot (in 1982), followed by Hollywood Studios in 1989, and Animal Kingdom in 1998!

There are four Disney parks located in Walt Disney World Resort. Each one has a unique history and exciting offerings. Here are some Disney parks trivia facts that will reignite your love for these beloved theme parks.
Magic Kingdom
This beloved park is home to some of the most iconic rides and attractions. Modeled after Disneyland Resort in California (the original Disney park), you’ll find all your favorites here.
6. You might think you know how many theme parks feature live animals, but think again! While you can find plenty of live animals at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll also see live horses pulling the trolleys up and down Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom.
7. It might not feel like it, but the Magic Kingdom park is the smallest theme park in Walt Disney World! Just over 100 acres, it is dwarfed by Disney’s Animal Kingdom which measures over 500 acres!
8. The waiting area outside of the Hall of Presidents attraction at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom features several authentic presidential artifacts and recreations, including George Washington’s beer mug.
Hollywood Studios
Home to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, Tower of Terror, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, this theme park will make you feel like a star!
9. The Hollywood Tower Hotel is 199 feet tall. That’s not the tallest attraction at Disney World. The award goes to Expedition Everest at 199.5 feet tall.
10. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has doubled in size since it first opened, with Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land adding significant space.
11. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is serious about rockin’ out! Each ride vehicle is equipped with four speakers at each rider’s head and a subwoofer under their seats. Rock on!
Epcot
Another beloved park at Walt Disney World is Epcot! Featuring international pavilions representing 11 countries and thoughtful explorations of the world around us, this Disney World theme park is a favorite to many.
12. Epcot’s aquarium features 5.7 million gallons of aquatic habitat for sea turtles, reef fish, rays, sharks, and even manatees!
13. Another trivia fact in the millions – Epcot’s iconic Spaceship Earth weighs 15.5 million pounds!
Animal Kingdom
14. In a nod to its commitment to sustainability, Animal Kingdom’s iconic Tree of Life was made out of a decommissioned oil rig.
15. Animal Kingdom is currently home to more than 2,000 animals representing over 300 species

Pirates of the Caribbean
16. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride turned 50 years old in 2023! There are now 5 Pirates of the Caribbean attractions at Disney parks around the world!
17. There are more than 120 animatronic figures featured in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction including birds, dogs, a donkey, a goat, and of course, plenty of pirates.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
18. Inspired by the beloved cartoon character, Dumbo the flying elephant ride has been moved from it’s original location toward the center of Fantasyland, to a roomier location with an air-conditioned queue.
19. In its original location, Dumbo the Flying Elephant was unable to include a water feature due to Magic Kingdom’s hidden underground utilidoors, but the fountain was added once it moved to its new home.
Country Bear Jamboree
20. The Country Bear Jamboree was originally imagined for a ski resort in Mineral King, California but when that plan didn’t work out, it found its home in Florida in 1971.
21. This beloved Disney World attraction was closed for refurbishment earlier this year with plans to refresh and reopen in the summer of 2024.
Spaceship Earth
22. The monstrous Spaceship Earth has to be seen to be believed. In order to stay standing, its six supportive legs are buried 160 feet into the ground.
23. In 1986, the script for Spaceship Earth was updated and featured Walter Cronkite narrating two new scenes including a woman working in a “paperless office”.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
24. Sound effects developed by Disney legend Jimmy Macdonald are featured throughout Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and some of his original equipment was used to make new ones.
25. You can catch a nod to the Great Movie Ride (the attraction originally housed here) in the carnival scene of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Look for the poster for “The Great Moving Ride”.
